About

Hello there!

I'm Andrew. I grew up in Port Macquarie, New South Wales, Australia, and now proudly live in the greatest city on earth, our glorious national capital, Canberra. (Yes, that's right, I'm one of those people who actually likes Canberra. I actually like it enough that I co-founded Greater Canberra to try and make it even better.)

I'm a Christian, and a member of Crossroads Christian Church.

During the week, I work at IBM, where I'm a part of the OzLabs team, doing Linux kernel and firmware work for the Power Architecture. My work-related technical blogging can be found, along with that of some of my OzLabs colleagues, over at Store Halfword Byte-Reverse Indexed.

In a previous life, I studied at the Australian National University where I obtained a BA in political science and international relations plus a BSc (Hons) in computer science. I am also a graduate of Georgia Tech, through their Online Master of Science in Computer Science program.

I like unions, urban infill, public transport, social democracy and Hare-Clark.

You can find me on Twitter at @ajdlinux, as well as GitHub and LinkedIn (but only ironically), and of course you can email me.

Unless otherwise stated, all opinions expressed on this site are my own and do not represent my employer or any other organisation I am involved with.
